7:30 a.m. -1:00 p.m.: Cooking demonstration / Art Institute of Tampa. Culinary Specialists aboard Navy submarines are considered the best of the best of the cooks in the U.S. military. Today, our Navy Week chef from the USS FLORIDA will be cooking for the students in the culinary program at Art Institute of Tampa. Bon Appétit!
9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.: Habitat for Humanity / 1018 E. Norfolk Street. Getting their hands dirty to help the disadvantaged, Sailors will be trading in their uniforms for jeans and T-shirts today to take part in a Habitat for Humanity building project. Stop by, hammer a few nails with us and help Tampa grow by one more house.
10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.: Meet the divers / Clearwater Marine Aquarium. Navy divers have one of the most amazing jobs in the United States military. From salvage operations to underwater ship repairs, these Sailors see it all. And this is your chance to see them in their natural environment; under the water. Stop by the Clearwater Marine Aquarium and check them out and learn how they're keep the water safe for the creatures that call the ocean home.
11:45 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.: Tampa Interbay Rotary Club / The Centre Club Our Navy Week admiral will be featured as the guest speaker at today's meeting of the Tampa Rotary Club. He will be joined by the crew of USS FLORIDA.
3:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.: "Meet the Skipper & Crew" / USF NROTC The Skipper and crew of USS FLORIDA will be meeting the next generation of Naval officers when they head to USF. The NROTC will play host to a meet and greet with the boat's CO and several members of USS FLORIDA's enlisted crew.
5:00 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.: Navy Night with the New York Yankees / Steinbrenner Field. The World Series champs know what it takes to be a winner which is why they decided to team up with the U.S. Navy. Come on out to the ball field tonight to hear our rock band "Pride," see a jump by the Navy Leapfrogs and watch our admiral throw out the opening pitch. It's Navy Night with the New York Yankees!
