The Picnic in the Park is a springtime tradition for the entire community. Everyone is encouraged to pack a picnic basket and gather in Plant Park for a day of simple pleasures. There are storytellers, strolling musicians, live theater in the Bamboo Garden, and a concert by the UT Band who will play selections of turn-of-the-century favorites.  This day for the whole family includes games such as horseshoes, badminton, checkers, tiddlywinks, hoops and sticks, and complimentary Blue Bell ice cream.  Take a cruise on the Hillsborough River aboard Captain Cliff's Fun Boat.  Of course, you may want to simply relax with a good book in the shade of a Live Oak and watch the world go by.
